Masig (Yorke Island) forms part of the Central Cluster of islands. The population of Yorke Island is approximately 270 people. Other islands in the Central Cluster are Iama (Yam Island), Warraber (Sue Island) and Poruma (Coconut Island) which are close neighbours.The Masig Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC) is managed by a small Primary Health Care team consisting of the Remote Area Nurses, Indigenous health workers and ancillary staff. Allied Health outreach teams (oral health, podiatry, dietician, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, diabetes educator) visit the island regularly and midwives also attend as required for antenatal checks.Telehealth services are available for linking with other facilities via video-conference for patients.
